According to information from the Price Management Department (Ministry of Finance) in the first half of August 2018, the selling prices of cement and construction steel were stable.
Specifically, the report of the Vietnam Cement Industry Corporation estimated that the consumption of the entire cement industry in the first 15 days of August 2018 reached about 2.8 million tons, stable compared to the same period last month. Selling prices at cement companies did not fluctuate much. The average selling price of cement coated with PCB30 is 1.18 million VND/ton, PCB40 is 1.34 million VND/ton.
It is forecasted that from now until the end of August, cement prices will remain stable.
Regarding construction steel, citing reports of steel production and trading enterprises, the Price Management Department said that in early August 2018, steel prices were basically stable. Steel selling price is around 11,300-14,500 VND/kg (factory delivery price does not include 10% VAT, sales discount).
The retail price of construction steel in the Northern and Central provinces fluctuates at 12,900 – 15,000 VND/kg, while in the Southern provinces it is 13,000 – 15,200 VND/kg.
Forecast for the last 15 days of the month, basic construction steel prices are stable or slightly increased.
