According to the Vietnam Steel Association (VSA), the total production capacity of the domestic steel industry as of 2018 was about 30 million tons per year. Specifically, billet steel reached 12 million tons per year, rolled steel 12 million tons per year, color-coated steel sheets 5 million tons per year, and steel pipes 3 million tons per year. With this scale, Vietnam’s steel industry is considered the leading one in Southeast Asia. However, the industry has only been operating at about 50–60% of its capacity, which shows its great potential. Seizing this trend, HB Group has continuously developed the steel sector into one of its key business areas, joining forces to build HB Group into a strong and sustainable enterprise.

Distribution Market

With a professional and creative sales team, HB Group has been focusing on distributing steel products across the Southern and Central markets, while actively expanding into the Northern market in the near future. In the Southern market, HBG is a major supplier with a relatively large market share and has become a trusted partner of many major customers—construction contractors in the market.
